Fluxer has grown to nearly half a million registered users on Fluxer.app (as of 15 September 2026). Today we're releasing Fluxer v2, open source mobile apps in beta, and big improvements to self-hosting and safety. Self-hosting means running Fluxer on your own server instead of using Fluxer.app.
We're also accepting code contributions on GitHub again. The community has built a growing list of other Fluxer apps, tools and bots.
We couldn't do this without all of you. You talk about Fluxer, subscribe to Plutonium on Fluxer.app, donate, report bugs, build things and test the rough edges. Volunteers have put thousands of hours into Fluxer over the last few months. Thank you.
If you're new here, these two posts explain how Fluxer started and what comes next.

The self-hosting documentation is live. It explains how to run Fluxer on your own server.
Fluxer v2
It's here. Fluxer v2.

With v2 out, we can keep the code on GitHub in sync with our day-to-day work again. We can also review pull requests (code changes people send us). Thank you for your patience, and thank you to the dozens of testers who helped launch v2.
The mobile apps are now open source
The iOS and Android apps are built with Flutter, and their code is open source. Anyone can read it on GitHub.

You can use them today. On iOS, join the TestFlight beta. On Android, join the Google Play beta. Both are on our download page. We're making them more stable so they're ready for a full release on the App Store and Google Play. Thanks to @M0N7Y5 and @Elias for their work on the mobile apps.
Safety and operations
Behind the scenes, we've been working on moderation and on keeping Fluxer.app running. We've dealt with spam attacks, child sexual abuse material (CSAM), extremist content and other abuse, and we've kept improving reliability and uptime.
Closing thoughts
See you in the Fluxerverse!
